The
History of Rail Bearing Service
Established in 1973, Rail Bearing Service set up shops in Carlyle,
Illinois, North Little Rock, Arkansas and Knoxville, Tennessee to
recondition rail bearings and sell them for less than the cost
of new bearings. Since that time additional plants have opened in
Lenexa, Kansas and Ogden, Utah.
In
1977, Rail Bearing Service became Timken's authorized rail bearing
remanufacturer. In 1995, to provide added value to customers by
offering new and remanufactured rail bearings, Timken purchased
Rail Bearing Service.
Over
the years, Rail Bearing Service has modified its remanufacturing
techniques to accommodate bearing design changes and AAR rulings.
