bearings to meet the wide variety of needs for customers
throughout the aerospace industry.
Thanks to the financial and technical resources of The Timken
Company, Timken Aerospace is able to utilize extensive
research and development tools in order to bring customers the
most innovative products in this rapidly changing industry.
Timken Aerospace is not just a research facility, however. Timken Aerospace possesses the latest technological equipment and
test equipment required to design, engineer and manufacture the products that it creates.
With access
to the new alloys and other materials which are being
developed by other segments of The Timken Company, Timken
Aerospace is equipped with the highest quality and most
revolutionary materials available, allowing them to stand as
an industry leader in aerospace bearing development and
production.
Beyond
producing a bearing that meets and exceeds the needs of our
customers, Timken Aerospace is dedicated to meeting delivery
dates, providing a competitive price and providing expert
customer service and support.
Timken
Aerospace Services is FAA DER and OEM approved remanufacturer
of ball and roller bearings for use within the aerospace
industry. A sister company of Timken Aerospace, Timken
Aerospace Services primarily services the bearings produced by
Timken Aerospace for use in engine mainshafts and gearbox
applications.
Using
state-of-the-art equipment designed specifically for use by
Timken Aerospace Services, the skilled associates of Timken
Aerospace Services can inspect and evaluate the condition of
used bearings.
Following
evaluation, Timken Aerospace Services can replace, recondition
and remanufacture components within an existing bearing
instead of scrapping serviceable components.
Bearings
sent to Timken Aerospace Services go through a process of
reverse engineering, in which they are first logged and
serialized then disassembled and thoroughly washed using
automated cleaning systems. Following cleaning ferrous parts
undergo magnetic particle testing to determine surface cracks
and abnormalities. They are then visually checked for
dimensional profile, with the rings honed and ground to
specification.
Experienced
inspectors then reassemble the bearings in a clean room
environment; re-lubricating the bearings for preservation and
ensuring that packaging meets the most strict quality
guidelines.
The result
is a refurbished bearing that equals the quality of a new
bearing at a fraction of the cost. Timken Aerospace Services
is dedicated to working in conjunction with Timken Aerospace
to provide aviation customers with the most complete set of
bearing solutions in the industry.
