Timken
offers FAA DER and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)
approved repairs. This approval enables Timken to offer
comprehensive remanufacturing services for any bearing and
allows Timken to provide rings, retainers and rolling elements
manufactured by Timken both in the U.S. and the U.K.
Cost-Effective
Quality Aircraft Repairs
Timken
offers complete service on most engine mainshaft positions
and gearbox applications. When Timken reconditions a bearing,
the customer can expect significant savings compared to the
cost of a new replacement bearing. The cost effective and
reliable remanufacturing process is based on a wide breadth
of knowledge and experience in the aerospace industry to return
used aircraft bearings to "like new" condition. In
addition to being more cost effective, bearing remanufacturing
also requires far less time than manufacturing a new replacement.
Timken can recondition or replace components instead of scrapping
serviceable bearings through OEM and FAA DER approved remanufacturing.
Inventory
maintenance practices can be expanded to store specific products
by part number, allowing customers to reduce in-house inventory
and support JIT and other cost-minimization programs.
A
Dedicated Facility
Timken
is singularly focused on bearing remanufacturing. Our plant
is equipped with the best technology and equipment available
for inspecting and repairing bearings. Timken is dedicated
to helping customers maximize their bearing investment. The
Timken staff averages more than 15 years experience in aircraft
bearing manufacture, inspection, quality assurance, and repair.
Timken
also offers complete precision bearing inspection programs.
Most of the gauging and inspection instruments have been specifically
designed to meet the unique needs of repair and overhaul.
This provides the ability to gauge and inspect all aspects
of a bearing's geometry.
Timken
uses raw material sources and processes that are FAA DER and
OEM approved. The ability to obtain replacement part results
in very high yields. The
Remanufacturing Process
Strict
quality standards are met throughout the entire remanufacturing
process. A bearing sent for remanufacturing is first logged
and serialized for complete traceability. The bearing is then
disassembled and thoroughly cleaned using automated washing
systems. Ferrous parts are subjected to magnetic particle
inspection to detect surface cracks and defects. Every bearing
is then visually inspected and screened for dimensional profile
checks. The rings are honed to specification. Experienced
inspectors in a clean-room environment then perform reassembly.
Bearing preservation and packaging are also governed by strict
quality standards to assure remanufactured bearings will meet
original or OEM overhaul manual specifications. Quality
and Value
Timken
is approved by PW, GE, Turbo Power and Marine, and Honeywell
(Allied Signal), as well as the US Department of the Air Force,
Army and Navy. Our highly skilled workforce reports to FAA
auditors and undergoes ongoing training to ensure continuous
quality bearing remanufacturing.
