Custom Services for Customer Needs
The Timken Technical Services Program consists of eight service categories designed to complement and expand our current offering of products and services. Service categories include:
APPLICATION TESTING – analysis of rotational/oscillatory/static power transmission performance under simulated or actual application conditions and environments.
AUTOMATED BEARING SETTING AND GAUGING – consultation and/or supply of gauging systems to accurately and efficiently set tapered roller bearings.
CALIBRATION AND
PYROMETRY - testing and analysis that provide N.I.S.T. traceability to temperature controls and thermal processing.
MANUFACTURING SERVICES – consultation and/or supply of equipment related to forming, turning, finishing and gauging.
METALLURGICAL SERVICES – supply experimental materials, mechanical testing, material/failure analyses and consultation on materials and thermal treatment processes.
METROLOGY AND MEASUREMENT SERVICES – emphasis on precision measurement and surface characterization.
NUMERICAL ANALYSIS – engineering analysis including finite element analysis (FEA), statistical analysis and bearing system analysis (considers
bearings, shafts, gears and housings).
PROTOTYPE MANUFACTURING –
manufacture of products in small lot sizes that are primarily ferrous, round and finished to precision tolerances.
TRIBOLOGY AND LUBRICATION ANALYSIS – evaluation of lubricants and characterization of their properties. This program also encompasses rolling/sliding contact evaluation of friction, wear, damage and durability of surfaces.
