Our research in management and manufacturing processes has led to the development of focused facilities. Two of our U.S. plants, Altavista and Asheboro, were built using state-of-the-art technology along with input from our customers and Timken associates. As we built these facilities from the ground up, we put the first fully working modules on our development floor for validation of the processes.
Our Altavista facility is the first Timken plant to be managed entirely using self-directed work teams, with associates extensively cross-trained in a broad range of facility operations. In Asheboro, associates respond to global needs by focusing on high-value industrial applications with an emphasis on shortened product development and manufacturing cycle time. | | | |
