Our Advanced Technology Center has an expert scientific staff supported by one of the finest metallurgical laboratories in the industry along with a complete chemical laboratory. The Bearing Test Laboratory assists by helping evaluate new materials and designs, as well as product performance under simulated operating conditions.
Our fully equipped Metallurgical Laboratory and staff have earned an outstanding reputation for accomplishment within the bearing industry. The latest in technological advances regarding steels, plastics, ceramics, rubber, etc. are studied and tested by ATC experts. In addition, nondestructive evaluation expertise is available, and the laboratory has done pioneering work in the measurement of fatigue strength and other mechanical properties. The Tribology Laboratory staff works to understand and predict the interaction of materials in contact, utilizing several testers to study friction, wear, lubrication and other issues related to contacting surfaces.
ATC chemists perform consistent analyses of metals, ceramics, lubricants and polymers to support manufacturing processes, quality control and research. In addition, there is considerable experience in the testing and evaluation of metal finishing and lubrication.
