Based on many years of bearing experience for high-performance racing, Torrington engineers have developed a full line of advanced bearing assemblies for automotive engine valve trains. These assemblies help reduce friction and optimize performance in both overhead valve and overhead cam engines.
Roller Rocker Arms for Overhead Valve (Pushrod) Engines
These assemblies combine the rocker arm body, support bearings and pivot into a single unit. The design provides improved bending stiffness and lower inertia characteristics over conventional sliding pivot rocker arms. The bearing unit consists of two precision needle roller bearings that pivot on a shaft that is integral to the rocker arm assembly. The bearings have a full complement of needle rollers for maximum load capacity and durability. All components are optimized to achieve maximum performance in a specific engine.
Roller Finger Followers for Overhead Cam Engines
These assemblies consist of a heavy-duty needle roller bearing mounted on a shaft that is set into the finger follower body. The bearing has a full complement of needle rollers for maximum load capacity and durability. The unit design provides high stiffness and low mass properties for the most efficient valve response and engine performance. All components are optimized to achieve maximum performance in a specific engine.
Valve Lifter Rollers for Overhead Valve and Overhead Cam Engines
These Torrington bearings consist of a heavy-duty outer ring that has been ground to the optimum profile for minimum friction and stress at the contact point with the mating camshaft lobe. The full complement of needle rollers rides on a precision-ground shaft that is also used for mounting the bearing assembly in the valve-lifter or finger follower body. All components are optimized to achieve maximum performance in a
specific engine.
