In
1936, Winslow Pierce produced a tiny ball bearing to replace a jewel
in a family heirloom. In doing so Winslow not only repaired his
father’s watch, but also founded an entire industry. His invention
now travels millions of miles into space, lands on other planets,
operates dental handpieces at a half million RPMs and helps aircraft
navigate through darkness and adverse weather.
Timken Aerospace and Super Precision became a subsidiary of The Timken Company in 1990. Since then,
Timken has evolved into a leading manufacturer of precision bearings
and other specialty products.
