Timken Company's most valuable assets are its associates. Their
safety and health are critical to the company's mission. The company
recognizes its responsibility to protect all associates and visitors
from work hazards and personal injury while they are engaged in
company business and/or visiting on company property.
Workplace safety and health is everyone's responsibility -
beginning with managerial leadership. Our leadership team has
the responsibility to implement strategies to meet the following
objectives:
Provide and maintain safe and healthy plant and office working
conditions, and comply with all laws and regulations applicable to
workplace safety and health.
Provide associates the necessary training, education and
instruction in safe operating practices to enable them to perform
their jobs safely and efficiently.
Make available to associates all necessary safety and ergonomic
technologies, equipment and devices, and provide training and
supervision to ensure their effective use.
Conduct risk assessments and pursue continuous improvements in
workplace safety and health by developing plans to correct potential
hazards and to minimize the adverse outcomes of accidents and
emergency situations.
Communicate openly with associates, government agencies and the
community on workplace safety and health issues; and contribute to
the development of relevant occupational safety and health policies,
legislation and regulations.
Provide qualified personnel and resources to implement this
policy through the company's business-planning process.
This policy is applicable to all operations of The Timken Company
and its subsidiaries worldwide. All associates and visitors
are expected to participate in meaningful and effective ways of
implementing these strategies to achieve the objectives of this
policy. |
